Koorda Bulk Storage Refurbishment x 2
In 2024, Promako was engaged to undertake a major refurbishment of 2 x bulk storage facilities in Koorda. The purpose of the refurbishment was to extend the storages operational life by an additional 25 years and ensuring continued high-performance service.
The comprehensive scope of works included:
- High-volume washdown and thorough surface preparation
- Removal of the existing seal using high-pressure water blasting
- Complete removal and replacement of cladding
- Major Structural repairs, including jacking of the roof structure to install a heavy duty RHS compression ring.
- Application of specialised coatings to enable controlled atmosphere fumigation
- Installation of control system fan interlocks
Practical Completion was achieved in October 2024, with a half-life pressure test successfully conducted to verify the integrity of the new seal and confirm that the structure is safe and effective for fumigation.
