Geraldton Bulk Storage Tunnel Refurbishment
In 2025, Promako was engaged to undertake a major refurbishment of the bulk storage out-loading tunnels in the Geraldton Port Precinct. The purpose of the refurbishment was to extend the storages operational life by an additional 25 years and ensuring continued high-performance service.
The comprehensive scope of works included:
- High-volume washdown and thorough surface preparation
- Assist in scope development with the client.
- Waterproof sealing and coating of concrete expansion joints to eliminate water ingress
- Removal of the existing seal using high-pressure water blasting
- Application of specialised coatings to tunnels to enable controlled atmosphere fumigation
Practical Completion was achieved in May 2025.
